Frequently asked questions

What magnification does the Sigma 105mm Macro reach?

1:1, life size, at its closest focus of 29.5cm. With Sigma's TC-2011 teleconverter on L-Mount it reaches 2:1.

Can I use the Sigma 105mm Macro for portraits?

Yes. It is sharp at normal distances and 105mm gives flattering perspective.

Does the Sigma 105mm Macro work with teleconverters?

Yes on L-Mount, with the TC-1411 and TC-2011.

What is the working distance at 1:1?

The 29.5cm minimum focus is measured from the sensor, so the gap between the front of the lens and the subject is much shorter than that. Leaving the hood off gives you a little more room with timid insects.

How heavy is the Sigma 105mm Macro for L-Mount?

715g.

What comes in the box with the Sigma 105mm Macro?

A case, the LH653-01 hood, front cap and rear cap.
