Sigma 90mm F2.8 DG Contemporary Lens for L-Mount

The Sigma 90mm F2.8 DG Contemporary for L-Mount is a compact short telephoto from Sigma's renewed I series. It weighs 295g, and on a Lumix S5II, Sigma BF or Leica SL3 it suits portraits, travel, street, weddings and video without the weight of a typical portrait lens.

Image quality

There are 11 elements in 10 groups, including five SLD elements and one glass-moulded aspherical element, to keep axial colour fringing low and backgrounds smooth.

Small and all metal

The barrel is aluminium with a brass bayonet, and a magnetic metal lens cap comes in the box. The 55mm filter thread matches the Sigma 24mm F3.5 and 17mm F4.

Autofocus

A quiet, fast stepping motor works for both stills and video, and on L-Mount bodies you can choose a linear or non-linear focus ring response.

Close focus

It focuses down to 50cm, for a maximum magnification of 1:5, which is handy for details, food and product shots.

Who it's for

This is for photographers who want a light portrait and detail lens. The Sigma 65mm F2 DG DN is a little wider and a stop brighter, and the Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro adds true 1:1 close-ups.
