Ron Harrison formed the company in 1970. He was proud to say that personal customer attention along with the best advice is the key to a successful business.
Urth filters are superb. 5 stars to the business and staff. A great place to find all your photographic needs. Thank you Will!
What nice people with whom to do business! A great experience from start to finish with a good trade-in price for my old camera and a competitive price for the new one. As a new customer, I will be using Harrison again. Thanks.
This has been an excellent upgrade to my 5-year-old Canon R5.
Almost everything has been improved. The auto-focus, which was previously very good, is now exceptional, finding a distant face and an eye, then locking on tenaciously.
Electronic shutter is now the default and works seamlessly at up to 30 frames per second with no downside or visible rolling shutter. There is no reason now to use mechanical shutter.
The auto-focus setup has changed significantly from the R5 (and the original R). In some ways it’s simple, but with so many options, can be more confusing. Do experiment and see what works for you.
Video capabilities are also enhanced with new codecs and resolution options. There is some good material available on the web to help your selection. But do some initial testing with your chosen editing software.
The menu system has also changed with familiar settings moved around a little and many extra features and customisation options. But all the tweaks have improved the camera. A simple example when shooting video, I like to use auto audio with just the in-built microphone, but manual with external mics. The R5 Mk. 2 now provides separate audio setup to achieve this. There are many other helpful enhancements like this.
Be warned, this is a camera rich with features and functions. The user-manual has gone from 950 pages for the R5 to 1,400 for the Mk. 2. Do download this as a PDF from the Canon site as it makes it easily searched. Also spend some time with some excellent Setup videos available on YouTube. It’s worth the effort.
Two minor issues: I previously used third-party batteries from Duracell and Small Rig with my R5. These didn’t work with the R5 Mk. 2. However; the latest Small Rig E6P-C26 battery does without issue. The other issue is the really poorly designed hot-shoe cover which is almost impossible to remove. My suggestion is put it back in the box and use a third-party cover.
Lovely frame. Wrll made
Excellent, professional service. Would highly recommend. Staff are exceedingly helpful and pleasant.
Lost the original so was glad to obtain a like-for-like from Harrisons even if bit on the pricey side. Does the job to protect the lens front
This my second “Grace” album. Very pleased with them.
My order was dealt with promptly and despatched very quickly. Items, having been very well packaged, were delivered in perfect condition.
Pricing was very competitive, and I wouldn't hesitate to order from Harrison Cameras again. Faultless service.
Does what it says on the box.
The OM-3 is my first MFT camera, and I am very impressed. The 12-45mm lens gives great clarity, and close focus capability. The camera is very versatile and I'm still exploring all its features. I am particularly impressed with the "in camera" focus stacking, which can produce excellent images. The only very minor criticism, is a small reduction in dynamic range, from my usual expectations, but then, I have been spoiled by years of using a full frame camera. The OM-3 won't be replacing, my "full frame", but as an "EDC" it is versatile, practical and a joy to use. Thoroughly recommended.
Camera arrived very quickly and the condition appears better than described. Just had the first roll of film developed and all works well.
I recently bought a second hand lens to replace a damaged one for my Nikon D3100 SLR. The lens is in very good condition, and the price comparable with that from online sellers. Photographs taken using the lens have been of good quality.
The assistant was very helpful, taking the time to attempt (unsuccessfully!) to remove the UV filter from the old lens, as well as inspecting it to see if he could tell what the problem with it was.
Helpful and pleasant staff .free parking on a busy road a good place to shop competitive prices on new and used equipment looked on line and it was cheaper and more convenient to nip over to Harrison cameras than to buy on line especially for a £10 Saturday delivery what most of them are charging
