  • Bridge camera in white with a 40x 24-960mm zoom
  • 20MP 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor
  • Optical image stabilisation
  • Full HD 1080p video
  • 3-inch LCD screen
  • Face, smile, blink and pet detection
  • Runs on 4 AA batteries (about 300 shots)

The Kodak PIXPRO AZ405 in white is a bridge camera with a 40x zoom in a white finish, powered by ordinary AA batteries.

Zoom and lens

The 24-960mm equivalent lens covers wide landscapes and distant wildlife or sport. Optical image stabilisation keeps the picture steady at the long end, and the 20MP sensor leaves room to crop.

Easy or manual

Auto mode handles everything, with face, smile and blink detection for portraits. Program, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual are there when you want them, and video records in Full HD.

Power

Four AA batteries give about 300 shots. That suits travel, because AAs are easy to buy almost anywhere, and you can use rechargeable NiMH cells to save money.

How it compares

The comparison table on this page sets the PIXPRO AZ405 against the Kodak PIXPRO AZ255 and the Kodak PIXPRO AZ425, the two models people most often weigh it against.

Other colours

The PIXPRO AZ405 also comes in black and red. Apart from the finish they are the same camera.
