The Kodak PIXPRO AZ405 in red is a bridge camera with a 40x zoom in a bold red body, powered by ordinary AA batteries.

Zoom and lens

The 24-960mm equivalent lens covers wide landscapes and distant wildlife or sport. Optical image stabilisation keeps the picture steady at the long end, and the 20MP sensor leaves room to crop.

Easy or manual

Auto mode handles everything, with face, smile and blink detection for portraits. Program, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual are there when you want them, and video records in Full HD.

Power

Four AA batteries give about 300 shots. That suits travel, because AAs are easy to buy almost anywhere, and you can use rechargeable NiMH cells to save money.

What batteries does the Kodak AZ405 use?

Four AA batteries, which give about 300 shots. Rechargeable NiMH AAs work too.

Is the red AZ405 different from the other colours?

No. The red version has the same sensor, lens and features as the other colours. Only the finish changes.

What video does the AZ405 record?

Full HD 1080p at 30 frames per second, with sound from the built-in microphone.

Does the AZ405 have Wi-Fi?

No. Copy photos to a computer with a card reader or the USB cable.

What is the difference between the AZ405 and the AZ425?

The AZ425 has a slightly longer 42x zoom and a rechargeable battery. The AZ405 has a 40x zoom and runs on AA batteries. The sensor and video are the same.

What memory card does the AZ405 take?

An SD, SDHC or SDXC card. A card is not included.
