This bundle pairs the EOS R8 Mark II with a second genuine Canon LP-E17 battery in the box, sold exclusively through specialist camera retailers rather than general marketplaces. It's built for exactly the situation every EOS R8 Mark II owner eventually runs into: a full day's shooting, no mains socket in sight, and a battery that's rated for around 340 shots on the LCD or 220 through the viewfinder. A charged spare in your bag means you keep shooting instead of hunting for somewhere to plug in.
At its core this is the standard EOS R8 Mark II: a 24.2MP full-frame sensor and DIGIC X processor, 5-axis in-body stabilisation good for up to 7.5 stops (the original R8 had none at all), and a body that weighs around 499g, close to an APS-C DSLR despite the full-frame sensor inside. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II tracks people, animals and vehicles across almost the whole frame and works down to -7.5 EV, so autofocus keeps working in venues and situations where older cameras would hunt.
The LP-E17 is a small battery for a camera with a lot going on: 40fps electronic shooting, 4K video oversampled from 6K, and a bright, power-hungry viewfinder all draw more than a typical day's stills shooting would. USB-C charging in-camera means you can top up from a power bank between shoots, but that still takes time you don't always have at a wedding, on back-to-back bookings, or on a travel day with limited charging opportunities. Having a second battery already charged and in your bag removes that risk entirely, which is why we'd point anyone shooting professionally, or travelling for more than a day at a time, towards this bundle rather than the body-only listing. Worth noting: the box still doesn't include a battery charger, just the two batteries and a USB-C cable for in-camera charging, so if you want to charge both independently at the same time, adding the LC-E6E charger at checkout is worth considering.
Register People Priority lets you tell the camera which faces in a crowd matter most, useful at a wedding or a school event where the frame's full of people and only a few of them are yours to track. Switch to the electronic shutter and the EOS R8 Mark II shoots at up to 40fps with a buffer for over 1,000 JPEG or RAW frames, and Pre-Continuous Shooting holds up to 20 frames from just before you press the shutter, so a reaction that catches you off guard doesn't necessarily get away.
4K UHD up to 60p is oversampled from 6K capture for extra sharpness, and Full HD slow motion runs up to 180fps. Canon Log 3, PQ and HLG are available through Custom Picture for anyone grading footage afterwards, useful if stills and video sit side by side in the same shoot.
Canon restricts this particular bundle, body plus a genuine spare LP-E17 battery, to specialist camera retailers rather than general electronics marketplaces. If you'd rather build a kit around a specific lens, our body-only listing and RF 24-105mm kit are both available too, though neither includes the second battery.
