Swarovski have taken bird watching to a new dimension with their BTX eyepeice which offers binocular vision rather than the single monocular eyepiece that can be found on most spotiing scopes. Manufactured to Swarovski's usual high standard, the non-zoom BTX eyepiece fits onto the body of the Swarovski objective lenses in exactly the same way as the standard single eyepieces fit. Slightly easier to use, the head can rest on the forehead resting arm which makes it more comfortable for long periods of viewing and the 30x magnification (35x on the 95mm) gets you close to the action.
Field flattener lenses, flatten the image making sure its pin sharp right to the edge and the high qulaity HD lenses are flouride filled to enhance the colour fidelity and reduce the colour fringing that reduces image quality. The large field of view ensures that the scope is easy to use and can locate the subject quickly and without too much searching around. The adjustable head rest, really helps when using the scope for long periods and the two fins on the eyepieces make adjusting the interpillary distance really fast. There is a 1.7X extender available (sold seperately) which increases magnification by a factor of 1.7 and it is easily attached between the objective lens and the eyepiece.
The aiming aid on the Swarovski BTX eyepiece has been designed to work fast at high magnification, when it can be difficult to focus on the desired object, due to a narrower field of view. The circle helps to zone in on the subject which is then seen simultaneously in the BTX field of view . If you don't want to use the aiming aid, it can simply be removed.
