The Sony 24mm 2.8 G FE Lens is a wide-angle prime lens that balances incredible optical performance with easy portability so it can be carried anywhere. Built for Sony E-mount camera bodies, this lens offers a 24mm focal length and F2.8 maximum aperture for capturing wide-angle shots with beautiful background blur. Perfect for both stills and movies, it is ideal for a variety of photographic applications – from portraits to close-ups, and more. Featuring two linear motors that enable a high-speed autofocus, efficient handling for creative control, and a durable but lightweight build to withstand the rigours of daily use.
High-speed AutofocusSony have incorporated two linear motors to drive a high-speed, accurate autofocus and excellent tracking performance that utilises compatible camera body performance – beneficial for shooting movies, street snaps, and spontaneous moments. Switch instantly and smoothly between auto and manual focusing modes using the focus mode switch. Enjoy an instantaneous response when focusing manually as the focus ring features Linear Response MF, enabling the focus to respond linearly to focus ring rotation. |
Efficient ControlTo ensure efficient control during shooting, Sony have incorporated intuitive controls including an aperture-ring click switch that can be switched ON/OFF - ON for feedback when shooting stills, and OFF to suppress clicks when shooting movies allowing for smooth aperture adjustments. The customisable focus hold button can be assigned a variety of functions for user preference, including Eye AF function. |
Sharpness Across the Frame...The Sony G Lens design is made up of seven groups and eight elements, including three aspherical lenses and one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element. The aspherical elements are strategically arranged to minimise various optical aberrations to ensure images achieve high resolution across the frame – even at the widest aperture and a shallow depth of field. The ED glass element works to suppress chromatic aberration and minimise colour fringing to maintain image sharpness and clarity. |
Shooting CapabilitiesWith a minimum focus distance of 24cm (AF), the user can enjoy capturing subjects up close with excellent detail and performance. Along with a wide 24mm angle of view, the Sony 24mm lens is the ideal selfie shooting companion when using a gimbal or grip. The maximum F2.8 seven-blade circular aperture not only provides great control over spherical aberrations but allows the creation of beautifully natural bokeh. The Sony 24mm lens accepts the attachment of circular polarising filters for landscapes, ND filters for movies, and more. Thanks to the internal focus, the front lens element does not rotate which gives the photographer extra control.

Lightweight and DurableThe Sony 24mm lens has an excellent build quality, featuring an aluminium metal finish on the lens body and hood that contributes to the overall strength and durability of the lens. The design of this lens is also dust and moisture resistant, allowing the user to work confidently in challenging outdoor environments. The lens is extremely lightweight, weighing just 162g, making it the perfect walkabout lens that is prepared to face a variety of changing conditions. |

Nice light little lens and great for the money. Makes it a lot easier on the shoulder when carrying the camera. I also use 16-35mm G. Master but this 24mm G makes my camera into a good take anywhere snap shot one. Image quality is excellent.
