Beauty of The Blur

With the 7-blade circular aperture you can produce natural blur in out-of-focus areas (bokeh). A smoother background can make your foreground subjects stand out and easy to create depth-of-field.  

High-quality Optics

The optical lens arrangement includes two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and three aspherical elements that ensures G lens image quality throughout the zoom range. The ED elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing and the aspherical elements minimises astigmatism, field curvature, coma and other aberrations. Optical performance remains consistent with edge-to-edge sharpness and excellent colour.

Autofocus

Featuring an internal focus system that drives a fast, precise and near-silent autofocus – beneficial for recording video. The close focusing distance of 0.45m (wide) allows you to capture more detail in your images.  

Image Stabilisation

Featuring the Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation technology built within the lens to ensure handheld shooting is stable enough to produce sharp images. With the maximum F4 aperture, you can achieve clear night shots without having to increase ISO unnecessarily.

Zoom Speed Control and Technology

Using the zoom lever on the lens barrel or zoom ring you have fingertip control of the zoom speed. Zoom smoothly while maintaining grip on the camera – ideal for stable handling and shooting videos.  

The Sony Handycam feature has been incorporated into the Sony 18-105mm lens to ensure zooming is smooth and near-silent. The length of the lens stays the same whilst zooming, allowing for more comfortable handling.
