Take advantage of Sony's most advanced optical technologies with the Sony 135mm f1.8 GM FE Lens. Designed for Sony E-mount bodies, this prime telephoto lens offers an incredible 135mm focal length and bright F1.8 aperture which is perfect for a wide variety of photographic applications - from portraiture to close-ups. Featuring XD Linear motors for ultra-fast focusing, G Master optics and intuitive control over the lens for efficient handling during shooting.
Sony have incorporated XD Linear Motors to drive a high-speed, precise autofocus operation, whilst also making full use of the AF performance in Sony E-mount bodies to capture the perfect moment. The quiet operation of the AF system is beneficial for capturing stills as well as recording movies with enhanced audio. Enjoy an instantaneous response when focusing manually as the focus ring features Linear Response MF, enabling the focus to respond linearly to focus ring rotation. Featuring a focus mode switch that allows for instant switching between auto and manual focus modes.
To ensure better handling, Sony have incorporated intuitive controls including a focus range limiter switch which allows the user to set a predetermined range to utilise maximum AF speed and avoid focusing on unwanted objects. The Far (∞ ~ 1.5m) setting covers medium, head-and-shoulders, and full-length portraits, while the Near (2m ~ 0.7m) setting is ideal for close-ups of the face or more extreme details. Customisable focus hold button on the side and top surfaces of the lens for efficient use when shooting in different angles. Functions can be assigned to the buttons, such as AF, for fingertip use. An aperture click switch enables control over switching click stops ON/OFF.
Superb Optical DesignThe Sony 135mm lens configuration is made up of 10 groups and 13 elements, including one XA (eXtreme aspherical) lens element, one super ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element, and one ED glass element. The elements are strategically arranged to effectively suppress optical aberrations and distortion, such as axial chromatic aberration, colour bleeding, and more. The advanced optics offer G Master optics and deliver beautifully rendered images. |
The Sony 135mm lens is constructed out of a durable and lightweight magnesium alloy, which helps to ensure optimum optical precision and contributes to the overall lightness of the lens. Featuring a dust and moisture resistant structure that provides extra protection when operating in challenging outdoor environments. The front lens surface has a fluorine coating that repels dust, water, oil, and other contaminants, whilst also making it easy to clean if contaminants do become attached to the lens.
Featuring Sony’s original Nano AR Coating, this lens minimises ghosting and flare when working with bright light sources, such as backlighting. Sharpness, high contrast and clarity is maintained across the frame in a variety of conditions.
With a maximum F1.8 11-blade circular aperture, it’s easy to achieve a lusciously smooth bokeh background and emphasize the subject. Along with the 0.7m minimum focusing distance and 0.25 maximum magnification ratio, users can capture stunning close-ups with impressive detail and resolution.
