Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II Art Lens for L-Mount

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II Art for L-Mount is a full-frame 35mm prime with an F1.2 aperture. Launched in 2025, it replaces the original 35mm F1.2 DG DN and is about 30% lighter and 20% shorter, according to Sigma. On a Lumix S5II, Sigma BF or Leica SL3 it gives a natural 35mm view with very shallow depth of field and strong low-light ability.

Optical design There are 17 elements in 13 groups, including one SLD and four aspherical elements, designed for high resolution at F1.2 with smooth out-of-focus areas.

Dual HLA autofocus Two HLA linear motors drive two floating focus groups, which keeps focus fast and accurate even at F1.2. Sigma also suppressed focus breathing, so the framing stays steady during video focus pulls.

Controls There is an aperture ring with a click switch and a lock, an AFL button and an AF/MF switch. On L-Mount bodies you can choose a linear or non-linear focus ring response.

Built for work

The body is dust- and splash-resistant, the front element has a water- and oil-repellent coating, and the petal hood locks on.

Who it's for

This is for portrait, wedding and documentary photographers who want the shallowest depth of field and the most light a 35mm can give. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II is lighter and smaller for all-day use.
