The Sigma 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary for Sony E is a tiny full-frame wide prime that can also shoot close-ups. At 230g and about 5cm long it is one of the smallest lenses in Sigma's all-metal I series, and on an a7 IV, a7C II or a7R V it makes a very compact everyday kit.

It focuses down to 10.8cm, for a maximum magnification of 1:2. That is unusual for a wide prime and lets you shoot flowers, food and small details with plenty of background in view.

There are 10 elements in 8 groups, with one SLD and three aspherical elements. A quiet stepping motor drives the autofocus for stills and video.

The barrel and rings are metal, the petal hood locks on, and a magnetic metal lens cap comes in the box. The mount is rubber sealed against dust and splashes.

There is a manual aperture ring with one-third stop clicks and an AF/MF switch. The 55mm filter thread is shared with several other I series lenses.
