The Reflecta 3 in 1 Scanner, is ideal for photographers who need to digitize old photographs upto 7x5 inches, but also 35mm slides and 35mm negatives making it a very versatile piece of equipment. Easy to use, this stand alone scanner uses memory cards to store the images and these can be down loaded onto a computer using the USB port and USB lead which also serves as the power supply. The Reflecta 3 in 1 scanner was very good for the purpose for which I bought it - which was to scan some old slides from the 1970s and 80s. It has also been useful in digitising old photographs. A bonus was the function allowing the scanning of negatives, which seem to come out really well. For me, the resolution is fine for these purposes. It is quite quick to use and the fact that it saves to a memory card is both practical & hassle-free. Very good value to my mind. Only downside was that some of the older slides turned out to be 126 format rather than 35mm and, although the frames fit the holding tray, they do not conform to the same picture dimensions.
Equipment arrived well-packaged and intact. Each slide holder holds 4 slides, and is fairly light plastic meaning care must be taken to avoid breaking or snapping the holder. Slides must be positioned correctly or the holder could break on closing. A second holder would be really useful to increase the processing batch time. Each scan takes a second or so, so quick to operate. Re-moving and replacing the 4 slides takes the time. Manual just about adequate, so far so good!
