Discover a new way to explore the world with the Papilio III WR - compact binoculars designed for everything from detailed close-up viewing to vibrant long-range observation. Built for British weather and everyday adventures, these binoculars deliver clarity, comfort and versatility in a pocket-friendly size.
The Papilio III WR excels at close-distance viewing, focusing from approximately 50 centimetres (0.5m). Its unique convergence correction mechanism shifts the objective lenses to maintain a natural, strain-free view at short distances. When refocused for distance, the lenses return to their normal position, ensuring superb performance for birdwatching, hiking or concerts.
This is the first Papilio model to feature a weather-resistant design, helping to guard against rain, mist and splashes. An anti-stain coating on the eyepieces and front plate glass reduces dust and smudges, ensuring clear views wherever your day takes you.
With full multi-coating across all optical elements and the latest HD Coating applied to key lenses, the Papilio III WR delivers brighter, higher-contrast images with reduced reflection. Aspherical elements and BaK4 prisms ensure edge-to-edge sharpness and minimal distortion.
A protective rubber casing provides a secure, comfortable grip. Long 15mm eye relief makes viewing easy even for glasses-wearers. Additional user-friendly features include:

Can't believe their modest price! They are a delight to use: very lightweight and hand-sized, so that shake is minimised, or eradicated, in close focus. A child could easily hold them. And the focus at 0.5m is astonishing. Pin sharp. One reviewer I recall said it was like having a microscope in hand. Focus wheel is perhaps slightly small (weight saving?), but believe me you'll forget all about that. The FOV is good, but the image brightness is literally brilliant. Long focus is surprisingly good, and will not disappoint, but that's not really what these are for. Love the pale green colour, and you'll soon get used to the slightly odd 'porro prism' shape. These are a hugely successful optic at a really sensible price.
