It's a lovely tripod and very well designed.
I had an aluminium version of the same tripod before changing to the carbon version and both are excellent. In reality there isn't much difference in weight, so I'm not really sure if the change was worth the significant additional cost!
Anyway I bought it and am happy with it and plan to keep it for years so am pleased with the purchase. Harrison Cameras were excellent and usual.
Lovely little compact tripod.
Stability is fine, not great, but good enough for most travel assignments where compactness is a big priority.
Sufficiently high enough for most needs.
I know you're paying for the design because it does utilise space excellently and is very light and strong for its overall mass, but still, I feel it is over priced.
For assignments where stability is priority over weight and size when traveling, I would not use this tripod.
One issue I had was with the allen/hex key wrench clip. The key kept falling out of the clip. It is designed to lock into place inside the leg clip, but any light pressure on the key/wrench unlocks it and it is easily lost. It needs a better locking mechanism so as not to fall out. I was just lucky to find it on both occasions. I now keep this in my camera bag instead and no longer keep this attached to the tripod leg because it will get lost.
The case is a tight fit. It needs to be just a tad less tight because it takes longer to fit it inside because of this.
The case is designed to be carried with a strap, but does not come with one. I thought one would be supplied. I recommend it be sold with one instead of having to make an additional purchase to use it as intended.
3 stars may be a little under rated, but 4 stars may be a little over.
If all these small matters were resolved it would be 4-5 star rated.
so far so good
excellent compact and light
obvoiusly not a cheap tripod
fits into teh side pocket of my camera bag so will gettaken out more often than my old one
build quality is excellent and design is very well thought through
HC service was very good and they were offering the tripod for a very good price
Yes it’s expensive - let’s put that out of the way first. But you won’t find a better lightweight travel tripod as good as this one. And the service from Harrison is excellent. Competitively priced and fast delivery. What more could one ask for?
