From wide-view stunning vistas to close-ups of beautiful flowers, the Nikon Z 20mm 1.8 S Nikkor Z Lens can do it all. Offering a 20mm focal length and bright f/1.8 aperture, enjoy a thrilling performance whether shooting in night or day. Featuring a precise internal focusing system, a superb optical design to suppress aberrations, and a minimum focusing distance of 0.20m, all to allow for endless shooting opportunities.
Precise FocusingThe internal focusing system of the S-line 1.8 lens drives a fast, smooth, and near-silent focusing operation, beneficial for fluent video footage and stills. For more intuitive use, the lens allows for precise control over depth of field and the addition of the silent control ring lets the user pull focus with precision. Focus breathing is all but eliminated. The control ring can also be used for ISO, silent aperture control, or exposure compensation.

Sharpness Across the Frame...The optical design of the Nikon Z 20mm lens is made up of 14 elements and 11 groups, including three ED (extra-low dispersion) lens elements and three aspherical elements. The lens elements have been strategically arranged to correct chromatic aberrations so images remain sharp across the frame. Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat has been applied to the lens elements to minimise ghosting and flare when working in harsh light conditions, such as backlighting. No matter where you are, you’ll capture stunning scenes with breath taking detail.

Shooting CapabilitiesThe Nikon Z 20mm lens doesn’t just shoot impressive wide angles, it can capture subjects up close with incredible detail. The minimum focus distance of just 0.20m allows the user to discover greater detail and sharpness, making this lens extremely versatile for travelling about with. The combination of the wide Z mount and f/1.8 rounded 9-blade aperture allows the photographer to unleash their creativity in any light. Capture sharp images with a beautifully smooth, natural bokeh, or shoot wide open and snap mesmerising starry skies.

Overall, this does the job; usual Nikkor 'sturdy solid' feel to the lens and mount. Lighter than expected compared to similar size lenses. Focus ring is big, very smooth, almost no auto-focus servo/motor noise. No obvious aberrations, totally clear images as you'd expect.
That said, RRP circa £1000 seems to high compared to similar Nikkor lenses and focal lengths. And, the drawback which you eventually get used to is lack of auto-manual switch, you have to change in camera settings but for the likely shots (landscape, still) it doesn't matter that much.
