The fast, sharp and versatile companion to Nikon Z cameras. The Nikon Z 100-400mm focuses quickly and quietly to track fast-moving subjects with absolute precision, even if they’re moving erratically. Its 100-400mm telephoto zoom range and superior optical performance deliver exceptional results across a huge range of situations, whether the subject is relatively close or far away. Added to this, the powerful VR performance equivalent to 5.5 stops lets photographers shoot handheld at slower shutter speeds without sacrificing sharpness. Minimum focus distance is just 0.75 m at the wide-angle end of the zoom range, and 0.98 m at full extension.

I recently purchased this lens from Harrison Cameras and have been delighted by its performance on the build quality and the range is just right for my landscape and wildlife needs. However, I did notice a very minor issue with slight paint loss/wear or lack of coating on the knurled function/aperture ring. Although it does in no way affect performance it means it would not be classed "As New" if I wanted to sell and shouldn’t be there on a new lens of this cost and caliber. I must add the lens had not been opened in the shop. I have contacted Nikon for their thoughts on this as it may be a quality control issue or reconditioned sample? I did also speak to Harrison Cameras, who were understanding and I can’t fault, as their service is excellent and would have replaced it if within the 14 day return period. (always open and check lens straight away!) I’m therefore giving it 4 stars not 5 because of this slight issue.
What an amazing lens. Fast focusing, well balanced and very good image quality. Expensive but worth it. I bought it with a 2x teleconverter which slows down focus speed but they work well together, even hand held. Top service as always from Harrison Cameras.
