Leki FS Carbon 4 Section Monopod Trekking Pole

I like this a lot. It is a replacement for one I bought a number of years ago. I use it mostly as a walking aid but the monopod function is very useful when needed

I saw this advertised but sold-out on the manufacturer's website a few years ago. I couldn't find it elsewhere at the time, and ended up with a basic trekking pole - no camera pole & wobbly 'photos.

I stumbled upon it here, bought it, and am very happy. A decent trekking pole, adjustable to exactly what I need for walking, and also a good monopole. I'm 1.8m, and I don't need to fully extend it to use it when taking 'photos.

The only problem that I can see is that the top of the handle fully detatches (an easy twist off, but not one that could happen accidentally), so I can see me misplacing & losing it. I hope I don't, as I think that I'll be using this for a long time.

Sadly apparently discontinued by Leki and as rare as hen's teeth, it was great to find a retailer with one of these in stock!
The package arrived on time and there was no damage to the pole which was secure inside.
Having owned several Leki poles the clamping mechanism was a new one on me with individual cams for each length. These are much easier to adjust than the friction locks on the aluminium poles and in the short period of time I have had this pole, just as secure.
The camera fixing is accessed by simply twisting the top of the pole, there is no special fixing to hold it once off, so ensure you put it somewhere secure. The camera simply screws on, I may buy a quick release in due course, but so far it hasn't been a problem.
In action and using a Panasonic Lumix FZ82D there have not been an issues, the pole does a good job of providing some extra stability, though nothing like a tripod.
I haven't got anything negative to write about this purchase, the whole process went smoothly and I am very pleased to have a new trekking pole and monopod.

Love it. Light. Solid. Looks good. Works smoothly. Nifty integrated camera mount (small plate not suitable for very large cameras, though as advertised and fine for my purposes). Getting lots of use.

I purchased the trekking pole to replace the same model that I lost whist on holiday so I knew what I was buying. Excellent quality and ease of use (after all, it is a Leki!) and, best of all, it cost almost £40 less than I paid for the same pole almost two years ago. What's not to like?!?
