The Kowa Genesis 8x33 Prominar XD is Kowa's top binocular in a mid-size body. It gives a 140m field of view and focuses down to 1.5m, and at 590g it is much easier to carry all day than a full-size 42mm binocular.

Prominar XD glass

Genesis is Kowa's top binocular range. Prominar XD lenses use fluorite-based glass to cut colour fringing, giving a sharp, high-contrast image with natural colour, right to the edge of the view.

A mid-size body

The 33mm format is a good balance between brightness and weight. It is noticeably lighter than a 42mm binocular but brighter than a compact, and it focuses down to 1.5m for insects and flowers.

Waterproof

The body is waterproof and nitrogen filled, so it will not fog inside in cold or wet weather.
