The Irix 15mm F/2.4 Blackstone Lens offers a versatile addition to your kit bag. Durable enough to withstand extreme conditions, whether you’re in the Sahara Desert or in Antartica, whilst still delivering exceptional results. With a focal length of 15mm, the Irix 15mm lens is a great option for both indoor and outdoor photography.
Compatible with Nikon DSLR
Irix have included as many as 15 elements in the Irix 15mm lens so you can be more creative in your photography - consisting of 4 refractive elements, 2 ED elements and 3 aspherical elements. Hand in hand with the minimum focussing distance of 0.28 metres and 9 rounded shaped aperture blades, you can achieve a beautiful bokeh effect or soften out-of-focus areas.
Benefitting from decades of optical design, the Irix 15mm lens presents excellent resolution and minimal 2% distortion.
Featuring semi-automatic modes (PASM) and data recording in EXIF to allow you to control the lens’ iris directly from the camera.
The Blackstone version of the Irix 15mm Lens is built to withstand rigours of professional use in various conditions. Externally, the lens features a anti scratch housing and a detachable lens hood to protect the glass from any cracks or scratches. Internally, the lens is constructed out of aluminium-magnesium alloy and is sealed in crucial points to ensure it is protected from dust and moisture.
This lens eliminates the risk of dirt particles getting swept into the internal structure by not changing its dimensions during focus pulling. You can take the Irix 15mm lens anywhere and everywhere without the worry of internal damage.
Focus Lock - Gives you the ability to lock the focussing ring in a chosen position which is helpful when you want to be sure you set the perfect point of focus.
Rear Gel filter slot - A special feature of the Irix 11mm is the rear gel filter shot. It allows neutral gray filters against the background of competing ultra-wide-angle builds that do not have the option of using filters.
Circular Polariser Adjustment Window – The lens hood has a sliding window so you can rotate the polarizing filter without the risk of it getting dirty.
Focus Calibration window - As there is focus detection in DSLR cameras, you may need to synchronise the lens with the camera. A special window allows you to easily calibrate the lens at home.
Click at infinity - Allowing you to achieve quick, precise focusing. You’ll feel the moment when your lens hits infinity, which is extremely useful when shooting in different light conditions (I.e., low light, night).
95mm front filter thread – Giving you the option to use screw-in filters including the Irix Edge UV & Protector, Irix Edge ED and others.
Compatible with Irix Edge IFH – 100 Filter Holder – Experiment with different gradients: Soft, Hard and Reverse.
Engraved Fluorescent Markings – Enables easy read-out and operation in low light conditions.

Great lens, very well built and brilliant optics. I have used many ultra wide lens over the years from Sigma and Nikon; this one beats them all. Perfect for wide landscapes and astrophotography. Very close focusing. The lockable focus ring allows for easy hyperfocal focussing, allowing you to shoot effortlessly between infinity to less than 1m at f16 without touching the focus ring.
I cannot recommend this lens enough. Outstanding
I was looking for reasonably price wide angle prime to use on Nikon APS-C DSLR (so the 15mm was in effect 22.5mm). I shoot landscape predominantly and the weather sealing was a major factor in deciding to get this lens. Didn't need autofocus so it being manual wasn't an issue. The positive 'click' for the infinity setting was useful, stopped checking focus as much as normal as day progressed. Tested it for astro work and it performed well. Genuine feel of quality when using, optics worked well, barely visible vignetting, occasional flare when pointed in similar direction to the sun, but that is hardly unexpected for such a wide angle. Horizon line distortion was not at issue, incredible really. Used with Cokin X-Pro filters and had no issues with them impinging on field of view, you couldn't get away with using Z-Pro series though, so if you want to use filters with this lens its not a cheep option. I'll definitely buy IRIX again, looking forward to seeing what they do next.
