The Fujifilm X-E5 silver body-only option is ideal for photographers who want the flexibility to pair this latest-generation mirrorless camera with their own lenses. Marrying a timeless aesthetic with cutting-edge imaging technology, the X-E5 delivers exceptional performance in a lightweight, rangefinder-style body that weighs just 445g, including battery and memory card. This compact powerhouse offers ultimate versatility for photographers seeking to tailor their gear to specific shooting styles or lens preferences.
At the core of the Fujifilm X-E5 silver body is a 40.2MP back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, paired with Fujifilm’s high-speed X-Processor. This advanced combination ensures ultra-high resolution images with rich tonal range, remarkable low-light performance, and accurate colour reproduction. ISO 125 is now available as a standard sensitivity setting, while the electronic shutter delivers precision control with a maximum shutter speed of 1/180000 sec – ideal for bright conditions or wide-aperture shooting.
The Fujifilm X-E5 silver body is the first in its series to include five-axis in-body image stabilisation, providing up to 7.0 stops of compensation at the centre and 6.0 stops at the periphery. Whether you're capturing handheld shots in low light or recording video on the move, this powerful stabilisation keeps images sharp and footage smooth.
The Fujifilm X-E5 silver body features a newly designed top-plate machined from a single block of aluminium, offering tactile controls with an elegant, flat-edged design. A minimalist “Classic Display” mode in the EVF provides a clean, uncluttered view that emulates vintage film cameras, helping users stay immersed in their compositions. The new Film Simulation dial makes it easier than ever to craft custom image styles on the fly, offering instant access to iconic Fujifilm looks.
For fast-moving subjects, the Fujifilm X-E5 silvery body includes AI-powered subject detection autofocus, capable of tracking animals, vehicles, insects, and even drones. With improved AF accuracy and a new predictive algorithm, the camera maintains focus in both low-contrast and dynamic environments. A dedicated front control lever allows instant access to frequently used settings like view modes or aspect ratio changes.
In addition to stills, the Fujifilm X-E5 silver body supports 6.2K/30P video recording with subject tracking AF, making it suitable for hybrid shooters. A rear LCD tilting screen flips up to 180° for high-angle, low-angle, or front-facing compositions – perfect for content creators and vloggers.
Whether you're upgrading within the Fujifilm X Series or starting a modular mirrorless system from scratch, the Fujifilm X-E5 silver body gives you complete creative freedom. Pair it with your favourite XF prime or zoom lens to create a system tailored to your vision.

After 2 weeks in the Scottish Highlands shooting this little beauty I am impressed, it replaces my much loved x100f as my main small digital. I've paired it up with a voightlander F2 27mm ultron, which gives a slightly less wide feild than the 23mm that is the obvious choice: this suits me as I prefer a 50mm focal length on 35mm film cameras I use, and manually focusing isn't a hardship for me, but I appreciate it's not for everyone!
I've also tried old pentax lenses from film Cameras such as 70s/80s SMC pentax lenses, and this works, but focusing and stopping down is trickier, but can be done with a bit of patience.
I have found the camera just with one lens to be surprisingly versatile. The built in digital telephoto works well for a longer shots, and the built in panorama stitch does great at super wide landscape, and tilting the camera to portrait position then using panorama mode gives a pleasing letterbox aspect ratio. I've shamelessly overused both the telephoto and stitch and both of these wring everything out of the voigtlander 27mm lens, I've found it to be all I want in the bag!
As with my X100f, film simulations are a thing of wonder, I could live without the new dedicated film sim dial, but it is nice. Being able to shoot in mono and do raw conversions to other film modes, push and pull, adjust curves without needing to go to a PC is a winner too.
I struggle to find anything I don't like, I guess the android app is a bit clunky, and sometimes transferring images to a phone is a little flaky for me, but this is more a Bluetooth problem than Fuji's. This little camera is brilliant and I look forward to spending more time getting to know it.
The X-E5 is a significantly more premium product than the X-E4, improved, not just in specs, but also in ergonomics, materials and build-quality
