FUJINON GF 100-200mm F5.6 R LM OIS WR from Fujifilm is the first telephoto zoom lens for the GFX medium format system and has a 35mm equivalent focal range of 79-158mm. This lens is ideal for shooting landscape and nature photography thanks to its optical image stabilizer and weather and dust resistant construction.
Ultra-High Image Quality
The lens is made up of 20 lenses in 13 groups. This includes two super ED lens and one aspherical lens which reduces chromatic aberrations and field curvature aberrations to achieve excellent image quality. The lens is equipped with an excellent five stop image stabilization (CIPA guidelines). This allows photographers to make the most of the performance of the GFX’s high image resolution even when taking telephoto shots without the use of a tripod.
Silent and High-Speed Autofocus
The linear motor which drives the focus lenses, is very accurate, quiet and fast. The lens also includes a new mechanism for fixing the linear motor position when turning the power off or playback to avoid any additional vibration.
This telephoto zoom lens is capable of capturing the atmosphere of any scene through a combination of high-resolution performance and rich bokeh effect. In addition, the lens is dust and weather resistant and capable of operating in temperatures down to -10°C. Attaching the GF 1.4X TC WR, a 1.4x teleconverter provides extended coverage equivalent to approximately 111-221mm in 35mm format terms without any image quality deterioration.
The lens has been sealed in 10 areas for dust and weather resistance allowing you to shoot with stability in tougher environments and also operates at temperatures down to -10°C.

This lens is quite large but certainly not heavy. Build quality is solid - zoom and focus are smooth. The OIS is superb, producing sharp, handheld images. The lens is super sharp even wide open - impressive for a zoom lens I would say. Bokeh is pleasantly smooth making this suitable for portraiture as well as picking out details in a landscape image.
This lens repays an open mind. Get over the fact that it is not a fast lens. The OIS is the most effective of that fitted to all three GF 'big' lenses. At ISO 1600 and 5.6 the OIS enables it to yield sharp hand held shots at absurdly low speeds (1/3.2s & 1/7 s are realistic) on a system that is otherwise hypersensitive to shake. It transforms the GF into a much more playful camera. Gone is the exacting requirement to ensure everything is super steady. It is possible to shoot with nonchalance. The imperative to tripod has gone after two years of using this system. It is as sharp as the other lenses despite its moderate zoom status. Just a superb addition to take the GFX travelling. There is no doubt it cannot achieve the separation of the 250 or the 120, both of which I have used extensively. Accept that and it is a hugely rewarding lens. My appetite is now whet for the OIS 45-100mm.
