The Fuji 60mm macro f2.4 Macro R Fujinon XF Lens is an impressive medium telephoto lens with a minimum working distance of 26.7cm that has incredible macro capabilities. The lens delivers a wide range of shots including portraits and 0.5X magnification macros. The bright f2.4 maximum aperture helps achieve the desired milky bokeh effect and high-definition details. The XF models are constructed out of metal with a metal lens mount to ensure it is durable when travelling.
Fujifilm has used a glass moulded aspherical lens at the 7th element to prevent field curvature as well as an ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lens at the 6th element to control various aberrations e.g., chromatic aberration. The Fuji 60mm macro lens is also polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating) to eliminate flare.
Expertly designed the moulded aperture diaphragm blades, on the fuji 60mm macro to be curved to create a circular image at all aperture settings. The edges of the blades have been rounded off rather than cut off to encourage sharper images. To maximise the mirrorless design of the body, the X-mount also includes a short flange back distance of just 17.7mm giving high resolution right across the image.

Bought this to use on my X-Pro1. I needed something to get me closer to the action than the XF 27mm. Its sharp superb build quality & can achieve narrow DOF and focuses faster than I expected it to. I'm not a macro photographer and wasn't really wanting to spend almost 1K on the 56mm. It gets used for portraits and grab shots when out and about I have even shot a couple of low level flypasts on it. OK they need pulling up to full the frame but they're still good. That said don't expect it to behave like your DSLR 80-200, it wont but that's most likely because it isn't a DSLR
A very fine lens in terms of image quality. Have not done any macro work with it yet but for portrait work its excellent.I had heard about the autofocus being slow and even with the latedt firmware it certainly is, especially close up. However, once it has found its feet it adjust quickly. I much prefer to use it in manual mode for portraits anyway, I think if it was a faster glass it would of course improve it but with the new 56mm 1.4 comming in at about a grand I trhink for me this is the much better option
