About the DORR AVL-102

The Dorr AVL-102 Video dimmable Light uses LED lights to give an even illumination for photo shoots and video recordings. The AVL-102 Video Light has a colour temperature of 5.400K for natural portrait shots and comes complete with an orange filter which gives the unit a colour temperature of 3.200K, for imaginative photography. The unit has a light intensity output of up to approx. 790 Lux/1m at full ratio, so is extremely bright and is powered by 5x AA batteries. (Not Supplied). The ability to dial the light intensity up or down makes it a very versatile unit and as it is a continuous control from 100% to zero, it can be left at any level in-between.

Filters

The three other filters supplied with the unit are used to diffuse the light for a softer finish. The first is designed to soften the shadows which is perfect for portraits, the second has a stronger diffusion which is useful if there are other light sources around and lastly a magenta filter which reduces the green aspect of light including ambient light, so is perfect for use under tungsten lighting. Each filter has four tiny holes which correspond to tiny pins on the front of the light, so that the filter can easily be clipped on and left securely fastened. The coloured filters will require the white balance to be adjusted on the camera's settings, but this is a really simple process.

Attaching the Product

Designed to be used with or without a flash, the universal plug-in system allows the square unit to be mounted on the flash with velcro, or it can be mounted on the camera, camcorder or tripod by using the 1/4 tripod mount. The product also includes a free ball and socket tripod mount for extra versatility.
