Product Description

A mighty, mighty tripod for the purists among us...

Winston 2.0 is 3LT's most stable tripod yet. Resolute and steadfast under the most demanding of circumstances and built to carry heavy burdens to the end, Winston 2.0 lives up to his namesake as a rugged, stable and determined contributor. Powerful & functional, Winston 2.0 is a benchmark in tripod technology. Able to counterfold for transportation and with 3 detachable legs, Winston 2.0 is undeniably the most versatile three-section tripod in existence. Capable of holding 40kg / 88lb, Winston 2.0 is a robust workhorse.

3 DETACHABLE LEGS
All of the Pro Range 2.0 tripods have three detachable legs. Make one into a monopod by combining with the centre column, and use the others as booms for lights or microphones. Alternatively remove all three legs, add a set of tripod footwear, to create a compact table-top tripod.

KNURLED KNOBS
For improved grip, 3LT have knurled the knobs on the new AirHed Pro and Pro Lever, and added knurling to the caps on the Parallel Locks, and the column lock. This  improves leverage ensuring users can tighten knobs and caps securely.

STRONGER LOCKS
Pro Range 2.0 feature improved internals in our leg and column locks. A new style of Chicken Lips paired with two key lines in the legs ensure legs lock securely in place to create a rigid, stable base for any type of photography.

REFINED CONTOURS
3LT have redesigned a number of elements on the new Pro Range 2.0, creating pleasing curves and rounded corners. The patented Tri-mount plate is more contoured for ease of use, and the leg latches have a new design for ease of use, with a smooth open and locking action.

Well impressed with this piece of kit and at a really good price. This was the best deal I could find on the net, but the quality of the product is hard to beat as well as the cost. Great height and very sturdy. I upgraded from a £150 tripod to this and I am glad I did. What a difference.

Was in the market for a new tripod and must have spent weeks looking, as we all know shopping for a tripod is a minefield, I think partly due to the fact a lost of the 'big players' have hundreds of different head options and even more leg options, all with random series of numbers and letters like 1638SAMCFP which makes it a nightmare to compare products which other than the name and price seem completely identical...

Well along comes 3 legged thing with their Winston. All I wanted was carbon fibre, good ball head included, max height which is friendly to me at being 6ft 3 and something as sturdy as possible for long exposures as that's all I shoot.
Well, considering the size, it's still light weight, the ball head is so easy to use and buttery buttery smooth, the knurled knobs make it easy to operate even with gloves on, this thing with the center column goes way higher than me! Obviously it's not very sturdy at maxed height unless there's no wind but I'm sure the specs say its max height with center colum is 201cm, well I'm 193cm and it seems to be capable of going up to probably 220 230cm.

And the build quality is fantastic, everything feels solid and rugged and built to last, literally no complains I love my choice of the Winston 2 and it was cheaper than the other popular option people are going for, won't drop names but rhymes with Mr Ben Row so I'm super happy

If like me you own two or three tripods but just want one that does it all and does it well, plus you want a quality engineered product at a decent price, that’s both easy to use, light, strong, precise and smooth in its operation, where you have the ability to get it down low or high, with a multitude of configuration options, then check out the Winston 2!!
Once you get your hands on it, it becomes clear this product has been designed with the photographer in mind. it’s a game changer in my opinion. Having used the Winston 2 a bit now, this tripod is for the DSLR and mainstream lenses. It’s over kill for mirrorless kit to be fair. For the 600mm and 800mm primes Winston 2 works well on the mono pod & head configuration. If you use the larger primes or full on video/filming gear and need the tripod option mainly then I’d recommend you look at the legends range 3 Legged Thing have, owing to more heavy duty legs.
All the range is modular so interchanging kit is no issue and quick to configure too. You get a handy multi tool that also secures the camera to the arca swiss base plate, so no need to scrabble about trying to find a 2 pence coin or screw driver. Plus, you get a carry case, that’s a first and all included in the price not an over priced extra.
I have also purchased some additional screw in feet so I can use Winston table topped plus another set to anchor him into soft ground or sandy beach if needed. These were reasonably priced too. You can also get spare parts so no need to ditch the tripod once the rubber feet have worn out, just buy replacements. I haven’t broken the tripod yet so cannot comment on repairs etc.
My Winston 2 will be used for wildlife, sports, landscape, some studio and macro work. I have no doubt having tested Winston that it will deliver well, it’s already a welcome addition to my kit. Winston 2 is that all round tripod you’ve been wanting for years but had never hit the market, well it’s finally here and at a realistic price too. Check it out for yourself. I’m well impressed with mine.

Look no further, if you want a quality product at a fantastic price, that is both light, strong, precise and smooth in its operation. A product that will take heavy kit like DSLR’s and prime lens combinations even the larger 600mm and 800mm attached in the correct manner, then this is the tripod for you. I will be using mine as an all-rounder.
Having had numerous tripods over the years, this is a clear game changer. At last a tripod that’s been designed by photographers for photographers. The practicality of the tripod is a breath of fresh air, and can be adapted to a monopod easily. Thought has even been given to supplying a decent zipped bag and all the tools to use the tripod even to securing the plate to your camera body and to strip it for cleaning if required. The kit is modular too so interchangeability isn’t an issue like it is for other brands.
You could spend well over a grand for other brands of tripod, to be honest unless there is a need for extra strength above what this can safely carry, frankly I wouldn’t waste your money. This isn’t a tripod for light weight mirrorless kit, Winston is over kill for that.
Harrisons always give me a first class service either on line or if I pop into the shop on London Rd, so there’s no issues purchasing from these guys, I’ve used them for years. Go and see for yourselves and test before you buy if you need to. You will not be disappointed with a 3 Legged Thing product.
