Viking Peregrine ED Binoculars have extra low dispersion glass which really helps with stray light and fringing. More expensive than the standard glass used in optics, the light gathering power of these binoculars is terrific. Multicoated optics protect the lenses from dust and dirt, which means that they stay clear no matter what the weather throws at you.
The Peregrine Binoculars are finished in a smooth rubber armouring, so they are really comfortable to hold, even when wearing gloves and the longer barrels give a secure grip for customers with larger hands. Fantastic for using in low light, the Peregrine ED glasses will work really well at dusk and dawn, when the light is poor and on winter days when the weather is really bad. Excellent colour rendition and no fringing, the 4 BAK prisms are some of the best you can buy.
The Nitrogen filled optics on the Peregrine 8x42 binoculars, ensure that there is no fogging which is a birdwatching nightmare and a common problem with a lot of inferior optics. Viking confidently give these binoculars a 10 year warranty, so you can rest assured that the binoculars will give pleasure for years to come.
Supplied with a rainguard for the eye pieces which is a single rubber cover, which can be looped to the strap, a wide carry strap and carry case.

Oh my goodness, what a terrific pair of binoculars!
I bought the 8x42 Peregrine’s after lots of research and I am not disappointed in anyway.
Very simple to use even for us spectacle wearers.
I followed the easy to understand notes, set them up correctly and instant vision every time.
Very well worth the money. Thank you.
These binoculars are an updated version of the Viking Field binoculars I purchased many years ago, which are still going strong today. These new ones the Peregrine are excellent, very much lighter and providing a very clear image at all distances. They are extremely well made and I know from experience they will still be working just as well as when new many years from now. I would recommend these as a great set of binoculars and fantastic value for the money.
I bought the Viking Peregrine 8x42 binoculars as an upgrade. I was given an old pair of decent, but lesser quality, bins a couple of years ago, and have since become quite a keen birdwatcher. I don't have much knowledge of binoculars in general so I did some research online and chose these. Having now been out with them a couple of times I could not be happier. They have more than lived up to my expectations. The clarity is amazing. They are well designed and easy to use. Even wearing wooly gloves on a cold day, handling and focusing is easy.
I love them and am looking forward to many more trips out with them.
Very pleased with the quality and optics. As another reviewer noted there is some slight colour fringing in high contrast lighting but no worse than in far more expensive binoculars. The eye width adjustment on my pair is too stiff but once set it is a minor issue. All in all these are an excellent balance of cost/quality and I would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for binoculars in this price range.
Excellent binoculars. Great colour and definition.
