Product Description

The Fujifilm X100s Digital Camera features the utmost image quality to hand. The large APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor with OLPF-less architecture. The advanced technology of the CMOS II Sensor has an original colour filter array with a random pattern - this eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter. The X-Trans CMOS II aray allows the sensor to capture unfiltered light from the lens, this achieved an extreme of level of resolution. The optimized circuits exalt the S/N ratio which then produces a clean signal that is intensified by the EXR Processor II for a increase in image quality.

The X100s is equipped with both the Phase Detection System AF and Contrast AF. The Intelligent Hybrid Auto Focus automatically switches to the most optimal and necessary focusing system. The Intelligent Hybrid AF brings your subject into focus in just 0.08sec so you wont miss any moment. The processing image power of the EXR Processor II procudes images with an increased resolution and a higher quality. The EXR Processor II works with the high-speed signal of the X-Trans CMOS II sensor, this reduces the shooting interval to just 0.5sec which means the maximum continuous shooting speed is just 6fps.

The Hybrid Viewfinder combines the window-type “bright frame” optical viewfinder found in high-end film cameras, such as 35mm or medium-format cameras, and the electronic viewfinder system incorporated in fixed single lens or mirrorless digital cameras. While traditionalists prefer the clear, sharp view of an ‘optical’ viewfinder, modern electronic displays, giving data like shutter speed, aperture, white balance, exposure correction and ISO can aid photographers tremendously. The new Hybrid Viewfinder on the FinePix X100s aims to give the ‘best of both worlds'. The reverse Galilean optical finder with a 0.5x magnification features all-glass elements made from high-refractive index glass and offers low chromatic aberration and distortion. By using an integrated prism for the 2,360K-dot LCD panel image on the viewing screen in the reverse-Galilean optical viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder can show both the shooting frame and a variety of shooting data. Of course, it can also be used as a high-quality electronic viewfinder to compose or playback shots. With the ability to instantly switch between optical and electronic viewfinder images with a simple “one touch” control; the new Hybrid Viewfinder offers users expanded freedom in the composition and enjoyment of photography, in a range of challenging shooting conditions.

When shooting, you may want to use the X100s Optical Viewfinder with great image clarity and a clear information display. It allows you to confirm the settings while framing your shots. It includes setting such as; Exposure Compensation, Depth of Field Display, Exposure Mode, Shutter Speed, Image Size / Image Quality Mode, Shots Remaining, AF Target Mark, Shooting Range Frame, Distance Index, ISO Display and Aperture. The OVF also adjusts multiple levels of display brightness according to light conditions. It provides crystal clarity of the image while optimizing the brightness of the frame and information display so you are comfortable whilst framing every image. Also the Electronic Viewfinder delivers 100% coverage on a sharp image display which is delivered by a 0.48-inch high definition LCD display with a 2,360K-dot resolution. It includes all the features of the Optical Viewfinder settings on screen.

The Phase Detection pixels feature are integrated in the X-Trans CMOS II Sensor, the Digital Split Image helps you when trying to manually focus in on your subject. Check the split image which is displayed on the LCD monitor of EVF and you can manually adjust for a clear focusing. The 23mm F2 Single Focal Length Lens never fails to provide the best image quality. This new non-interchangeable, non-collapsile, fixed focal length lens produces a brightness of a maximum F2 aperture and the large-diameter rear lens group is integrated into the body for a slim profile. The all glass lens configuration of 6 groups and 8 elements is designed around a single high performance aspherical lens. All the lens elements have the multilayer Super Electron Beam Coating which reduces ghosting and lens flare. The circular opening at the largest aperture allows you to capture defocused background effects even with a slightly wide angle. The built-in ND Filter reduces the amount of light to 1/8 - in situations where the light is very strong although you wish not to shoot at a slow shutter speed.

The 2.8" 460K-dot LCD with a high contrast, high brightness and a wide viewing angle - this allows you to view the same image displayed in the electronic viewfinder. The Shooting Data Display displays numerical values and icons in a large size so they can be seen easily at a quick glance. The Fujifilm X100s has an aspect ratio of 3:2 and 16:9 and also allows a new 1:1 'square' aspect ratio. Shoot Full HD movies with 60fps at a high bit rate of 36Mbps allows great image quality and clarity which shows every detail.

The X100s incorporates Advanced Filters which allow you to easily transform your photos into something creative. You can review the filter before you press the shutter so you can achieve the most optimum image possible for the situation at hand. These filters include; High Key, Low Key, Soft Focus, Toy Camera, Miniature, Pop Colour, Dynamic Tone and Partial Colour (Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue/Purple). If Multiple Exposure mode has been set, you just take your first shot usng either the OVF or EVF, then view it on the LCD screen and frame and shoot the second exposure. This feature allows you to precisely focus and position the second shot to see how the completed image will turn out.

The X100s high precision 14 bit RAW data format allows you to record moments with more detail and tone. Also the built-in RAW data converter means you can view and edit your results without any need for a PC. It takes into account the exposure compensation, white balance and other important in-camera settings. For viewing of the RAW image data on your PC, the Fujifilm X100S version of the RAW conversion software by SILKYPIX® is included.

Everything on the X100s is positioned so it is more comfortable for you to use. With a choice of Aperture Priority AE, Shutter Speed Priority AE, Program AE and Manual Exposure Control. With a touch of the AE/AF Lock button on the back of the camera body, you can lock both exposures and just focus on the subject. The focus mode selector on the side of the side of the camer allows you to switch easily between AF-S, AF-C and MF while looking through te viewfinder. Select from the broad sensitivity range of ISO100-25600 for shooting at full 16-megapixel resolution. The Image Quality Control allows you to finely adjust the image quality with different contrast or softening techniques. Select either sRGB for a standard range of colour reproduction or Adobe RGB for a broader colour rendition. Also there are 5 different levels of noise reduction, they depend on whether your priority is the crispness of resolution or if you require to keep noise to a minimum.

Shoot Panorama Shots by simply sweeping the camera across the scenery. The X100s captures multiple images and stiches them together to make one single image. The Motion Panorama feature allows you to shoot 120° or 180° views. View the total number of shutter releases as a counter which shows every 100 shots. For when shooting family portraits etc, the self timer allows a 2 or 10 seconds release. Also comes in handy with macro photography and low exposure shots for when you need to avoid blur.
