The fixed f4 aperture throughout the range of the Canon EF 24-105mm f4.0 L lens means the lens can be used in fairly low lighting throughout the zoom range. The super spectra coating ensures maximum colour balance and reduces the risk of ghosting and flare, which can be a problem on digital cameras, where the light is reflecting off the sensor. The Fluorite and Ultra Low Dispersion glass elements in the Canon EF 24-105mm f4.0 L IS USM lens help to minimise chromatic aberrations, such as fringing and helps to give crisp, high contrasting images
