From the Blog:Swarovski Module Spotting Scope System Explained
Harrison Cameras, 112-114 London Road, Sheffield, S2 4LR
The Swarovski 95 Objective Scope has outstanding light-gathering capabilities, so it is perfect for dusk and dawn nature viewing when the light can be tricky. The 95mm objective lens is coated with Swarovski's, three special coatings, Swarodur, Swarotop and Swaroclean which ensure that the optics are dirt, dust and water-repellent and extremely hard-wearing to cope with hostile environments. This includes eliminating random stray light on the internal optics, which can cause all sorts of issues with image detail and colour rendition.
Nitrogen Filled
The nitrogen-filled body prevents fogging and means that the unit is waterproof down to 4 metres. The strong, lightweight body on the Swarovski 95mm Spotting scope, makes the unit easy to carry and set up and it has a tripod bush underneath the body to screw it onto a tripod, which is by far the best way to use the scope for any length of time. The 95 objective lens will take either the angled, straight or binocular eyepieces, which simply twist fit onto the scope body depending on personal preference.
Fast Focus
The focusing on the scope body is fast to use and because the ribbed wheel is wide, it is very easy to locate even whilst still looking through the eyepiece. The zoom barrel is just behind it, so that the unit can be focused and then separately zoomed whilst the focus remains fixed.
Swarovision and Swarobright
Swarovski have an enviable history in glass manufacture and processing and historically have invented many of the glass polishing machinery themselves, safe in the knowledge that it will work to their exacting standards. Manufacturing their optical equipment to less than a hairs breadth precision, every unit is examined individually, by hand after manufacture to ensure that it has reached the expectations of the Swarovski scientists. The coatings that they use on the internal as well as the external optics have been designed specifically for their products and will allow more light through to the eye and protect the scope from damage. Also designed to repel dust, dirt and water, the coatings mean that the spotting scope can be used in all weathers and can be rinsed down at the end of a long day nature viewing.
Wide Field of View
There is nothing worse than trying to locate a subject through the eyepiece when the field of view is small. Well, Swarovski thought this one through and have manufactured a system that gives a wide spread to cover edge to edge viewing, this means no swapping between looking through the eyepiece and looking with the naked eye.
Warranty
Swarovski are very confident that their spotting scope body will be perfectly manufactured and will give years of pleasure, so they have given it a 10 year warranty, which is comprehensive and fair.
