The Sony 28-135mm f4 G PZ OSS FE Lens lens has been created to satisfy the professional needs for high-quality move imagery. Offering a versatile 28-135mm focal length for Sony’s full-frame and APS-C E-mount mirrorless cameras. This wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens features a high-powered, fluent autofocus, smooth optics, and a lightweight, durable design to withstand the rigours of professional use. Including 4K and future formats when matched with a high-performance 35 format camcorder. 

High-powered, Quiet Autofocus  

Sony have incorporated a RDSSM (Ring Drive Super Sonic wave Motor) drive to enable a fast, smooth, and quiet zoom. Independent control rings for zoom, focus, and iris are featured on the lens. Beneficial for movie-making as transitions are smooth and controlled with enhanced audio from a quiet operation.  

Smooth Motion Optics 

Sony’s optical design concept includes SMO (Smooth Motion Optics) which is a concept that specifically aims at achieving the highest possible image quality and resolution for motion images. SMO addresses the top issues that are critical for moviemaking; Focus breathing is effectively minimised by a precision internal focus mechanism; Small focus shifts that can occur while zooming are eliminated by a special tracking adjustment mechanism; Lateral movement of the optical axis while zooming is eliminated by an internal zoom mechanism that keeps the length of the lens constant at all focal lengths.  

Durable and Lightweight Design  

Sony have constructed the 28-135mm lens to withstand a variety of conditions by implementing a dust and moisture resistant design. Overall, the lens is notably compact and lightweight for a high-performance wide-angle to telephoto zoom, weighing just 1215g. The design enables photographers to shoot in situations that require maximum mobility so the perfect shot is recorded.
