I'm not normally a camera strap kind of guy. I've used straps in the past and found they just got in my way. However, I was looking for one recently as I was attending a family event where others would need to use my camera to take photos of me (highly unusual) and wanted a form of safety to minimise the risk of dropping. I have other peak design products and at first couldn't decide between the slide lite and the bigger slide.
I'm glad I went for this one. It is wide enough to be comfortable and I found that with the silicon side which can be reversed this made shoulder carry a whole new option for me. Usually I'd wear as a sling but sometimes just over the should was enough. Very surprising.
The quality (as you'd expect from peak design) is brilliant and the slide lite comes with two extra anchors and a base plate if needed. I have an arca swiss tripod mount on my camera (canon 70d) (with holes in to attach an anchor luckily) so I used the base plate on my 70-200mm mount which will make carrying that lens a little more balanced on the slide lite.
Overall, from the few uses I have had from it, I love it. Great piece of kit. High quality, comfortable and looks great. The other big bonus for me was that Harrison Cameras was the cheapest place I could find on this particular model.
I'd highly recommend one!
