Product Description

The Nikon 50mm 1.4 AFS is a high-speed lens great for travel and for shooting full-length portraits in many light conditions. The Nikon AF-S produces distortion-free images with superb resolution and colour rendition. The f1.4 G lens will provide high-contrast images even at maximum aperture. The silent wave motor of the Nikon 50mm ensures smooth, quiet and rapid auto focus operation as well as a newly developed optical system that effectively corrects sagittal coma flare and coma aberration.

Intelligent System

Nikon's Internal focus (IF) technology limits all the optical movement to the interior of the non-extending lens barrel. This intelligent system allows for a more compact and lightweight design as well as a closer focusing distance to approximately 45cm (1.5ft). With the non-rotating front element the use of circular polarizing filters and lens-mounted flash accessories is possible making this lens a versatile option

Strikingly Crisp

Providing outstanding optical performance the lens comprises an 8 element, 7 group configuration and a nine rounded-blade iris diaphragm which renders images with a more natural appearance in out-of-focus areas. Efficiently correcting sagittal coma flare and other types of lens aberrations, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G offers great precision towards the edges of the frame particularly when using large apertures.

Switching Focus

Combining ease-of-use and maximum precision the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens has two focus modes. In addition to Manual focus, Manual-priority autofocus (M/A) allows you to switch from autofocus to manual operation with virtually no time lag, even during AF servo operation and regardless of the AF mode in use. This gives all the benefits of fast, automatic focusing while still retaining the ability to make fine focus adjustments before taking the shot.
