This 60mm F2.8 Macro Lens in Olympus 4/3 Fitting provides an excellent reproduction of details in combination with high contrasts. Does the job nicely.
The build qualtiy is very good for the price, the ring is quite a bit more stiff than I would like and can make a sound like it needs a bit more lubricant if turned to quickly, but is certainly useable.
The glass is more than decent and the images come out nice and sharp.
The mount cap however leaves much to be desired, poor fitting and cheap plastic.
The Aperture has a very smooth de-clicked ring, ranging from 2.8 to 22, shooting around f8 to f11 is my preferred aperture.
The lens is quite large and heavy and will add noticable weight to your camera, a tripod is recommend to avoid shake.
Came with a nice bag to protect it when not in use.
For the price, recommended.
Dorr 60mm F2.8 Super Macro MF Lens - Olympus Micro 4/3 Fit. I purchased this lens as a low cost way to experiment with Macro Photography. It was bought in the full knowledge that it probably couldn't compete with lenses cost many times more. The lens is very solid and has a metal mount which is good. It is purely manual which is fine at the price. Used in conjunction with a tripod and a focusing rack the images produced are very acceptable, in fact surprisingly so, and being able to go to 2:1 is amazing. Use as a non- macro 60 mm lens is reasonable, although it focuses on infinity a little bit before the index mark reaches the infinity mark on the barrel and then goes out of focus again beyond that if you turn the lens to the marked infinity point. - no problem once you know about it. I rate it 4 stars for its performance in relation to its price - note that if it was 3 or 4 times the price like many competing lenses it would only get 2.5 to 3 stars maximum. All in all I am please with my purchase.
