I'm new to macro photography and I didn't have big money to spend on the high end and famous lenses. This lens is really excellent quality. The image quality is great on my Canon 1300D. The 'soft spot' seems to be f11, but even f2.8 is good. The lens has to be used on the camera manual setting of course, but if you use live view and the magnification facility (I can only speak about Canon here) you can get a really sharp image with good lighting. Dorr are a German company and they are certainly keeping to the German reputation for good optics.
