This is the 'big daddy' of telescopes and will give endless hours of fun and interest. The Danubia Orion 200 Newton Reflector Astro Telescope is a classic Newtonian telescope which uses the reflecting system of light gathering, to reduce or even eliminate chromatic aberrations, which is the colour distortion that can make viewing stars and planets that bit more difficult, so on a clear night there will be lots of planets and stars to see in fine detail, depending on local light pollution. The powerful 200mm mirror on the Orion 2000 telescope will give phenomenal images of the night sky with Jupiter, Saturn and Mars clearly visible. Craters on the moon less than 2 miles across will be visible as will some distant stars and nebulae.
"This is the 'big daddy' of telescopes and will give endless hours of fun and interest."
This Danubia Orion 200 reflector telescope has a high focal ratio of 1:5 and is fitted with the heavy EQ-5 equatorial mount and a sturdy aluminium tripod, which will keep it steady even if using the motorised drive which tracks the night sky automatically, during the earth's rotation. (Sold Separately). Although the telescope is large enough to give excellent night time detail, it is relatively easy to handle and will dismantle, for easy transportation. It comes complete with a 9x50 finder eyescope, three Plossl eyepieces, an achromatic Barlow 2x lens and moon filter. It has a magnification of 40-316x which can be expanded further by optional eyepieces (Sold Separately), to give additional magnification, or closer focusing if it is to be used as a non-terrestrial spotting scope. The Orion 2000 will take a photo adapter for added flexibility and for astro-photography.
"The powerful 200mm mirror on the Orion 2000 telescope will give phenomenal images"
The image in most telescopes is upside down when viewed through the eyepiece, so if that is too annoying, then an erecting eyepiece can be purchased which reverts the image back to the upright, which makes it slightly easier when locating stars and planets. The telescope is best set up on a clear night, when the moon is full, as it makes it easy to align the barrel to the night sky and get a bearing on where the most interesting objects can be viewed.
