The Canon 55-250mm Lens IS STM F4-5.6 EFS is a great, compact and lightweight lens for wildlife, sports and travel photography. Designed for easy-use, this lens adopts efficient technology in order to deliver stunning image quality. Zoom in and capture the finer details with the Canon 55-250mm lens.
This lens has an Ultra-low Dispersion glass element and Super Spectra lens coatings to aid in delivering super crisp, high-contrast pictures throughout the zoom range. Along with a seven-bladed aperture diaphragm, your subjects are clear in the foreground whilst the out-of-focus background retains quality with softness.
The Canon 55-250mm lens includes a manual focus ring so you can make exact adjustments efficiently. Focus in closer to smaller subjects with the 0.85m focusing distance.
The 55-250mm lens adopts Canon’s Image Stabiliser technology to ensure you maintain sharp quality throughout. The technology allows shutter speeds up to 3.5 stops slower than normal to prevent the dreaded blur from camera shake – even in low light. When photographing moving objects, the panning detection automatically turns off the stabilisation to help create a sense of speed.
Say hello to smooth but fast focusing as the Canon 55-250mm lens features stepping motor (STM) technology. The technology is so quiet that when shooting a video, the microphone doesn’t pick up the distracting noise of the STM focusing.

This is a really good and versatile lens. I had great advice and product knowledge from Harrison to help me with my purchase. It is cheaper and lighter than the 300mm but is one of the best and most useful things I have bought. I've already had some great results using it for wildlife photography and it certainly holds its own when taking impromptu shots of the Moon. The auto focusing is pin sharp at whatever distance. Very, very pleased with it!!
