This is almost a 3D frame, as the photo sits right at the back of a deep profile. Almost a box frame, the picture sits at the back leaving approximately 3/4 of an inch of the frame in front of it, which pulls the eye towards the photo, making it very effective. Although the surround is wide enough for the frame to stand upright on it, there is a strong strut at the back which tilts the frame backwards to show the image a bit more clearly. The strut is held to the back of the frame with a piece of black ribbon, which proofs it against collapsing in a heap when it is 10 years old! The light beech effect finish gives the frame a light airy feel and the image is fixed into the Zurigo by four metal sprung clips.
